Dr. Bob Vickers
Interim Associate Minister
Currently serving as Interim Associate Minister of First Christian Church, Richmond, Bob has a wide and varied background in ministry. He served as an active duty US Army Chaplain for 22 years, retiring at the rank of Colonel, and served as the Director of Chaplaincy for the Southern Baptist Convention for seven years. Additionally, he served as pastor and associate pastor of churches in Kentucky and Georgia for over 16 years before retiring in 2010 to return to his native Kentucky. He received his formal education at Eastern Kentucky University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Lexington Theological Seminary, and Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
He is married to the former Carol Fritz of Richmond, and they are the proud parents of two sons, Vince and Ryan, and the devoted grandparents of four grandchildren – Jake, Emery, Cole, and Ava.
