Linda Hensley has been the organist/pianist since November 2005. Prior to First Christian, she was the organist/pianist for Presbyterian Church in , KY for ten years. She studied piano (along with her siblings Connie, , Kathy & Carolyn) with Estelle Stone. She attended , studying piano and the pipe organ with Dr. John Turnbull. After two years at EKU, she transferred to the Conservatory of Music at the as a piano performance major. She later completed a Bachelor of Performing Arts degree at EKU.
She grew up attending the Nazarene Church on Aspen Ave. in , KY. While in the 7th grade, they bought an electronic organ and she began playing duets with her sister Connie, (also an organist). This new instrument-interest led to her being hired at Colonel Sander’s first sit-down restaurant in --where she met the Colonel himself.
A professional entertainer, Linda has toured the United States, performing for and with many headliners. She recorded a live album with her original music and was a winner of the Nashville show ‘You Can Be a Star.' She has had feature roles or music director of over 60 musical/dramatic productions in dinner theatres and at CCM & EKU.
Some of Linda's interests are music therapy, composing/arranging, and puppetry/clowning. She is a Hospice volunteer. Linda credits her parents Betty and Arbie for all of their support and love. She has one son, Micah McGurk, who is a screenwriter living in , CA.
