As the people called First Christian Church, we aim to BE OPEN to all. Openness may sound passive: “The door’s unlocked if you want to come in.” To me, it’s active openness. That is, we seek to bring people who have felt shut out by many of the institutions and conventions of our society. We invite you without coercing you, woo you without pressuring you. We will listen to your story and your ideas. We want you to work with us.
